RFK Jr. to Hold Campaign Event with Comedians in Nashville

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Independent running for president, will hold a campaign event with big-name comedians on Wednesday night in Nashville.

“Laughter is the best medicine. Get a heaping dose and help heal America with humor at a ‘Night of Comedy’ with future President Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and future Vice President Nicole Shanahan,” said a flyer for the event.

The event, which will take place at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville at 7 p.m., features heavy-hitters in the comedy world, including Rob Schneider, Dave Landau, Jim Breuer, Tre Stewart, Jeff Dye, and Mike Binder, along with what is described as a “special appearance” by Russell Brand.

Guests who pay $500 for tickets are invited to an afterparty with a photo opportunity with Kennedy and Shanahan. Guests who pay $1,000 for a ticket are guaranteed seating in the first few rows of the auditorium and the same afterparty invite.

Standard tickets are selling between $24 and $47.

Kennedy has yet to make the ballot in Tennessee but will soon have an opportunity to do so.

According to Ballotpedia, Kennedy needs the signatures of 275 registered voters in the state in order to be granted ballot access. Qualification for independent candidates begins on Friday and must be completed by August 15, according to the Tennessee Secretary of State’s website.

Kennedy’s official website is asking for support in gathering 440 signatures, which he notes is 60 percent more than the required 275, and help raising $4,400, which it claims is the amount it will cost to file the petition to get on the ballot.

“Help Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. reunite America,” the website says. “Your donation is vital to help defray the many costs associated with gathering and validating signatures in the Volunteer state, including staff, transportation, logistics, shipping, printing, and countless other incidental expenses.”

Kennedy’s third-party campaign has garnered a fair amount of support.

Recently, it was revealed that in a 2012 divorce proceeding, Kennedy claimed that a tapeworm ate part of his brain before dying inside his head.

He also considered NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets as his running mate before selecting Shanahan, a relatively unknown attorney from California.

Rodgers confirmed those rumors in an interview with Tucker Carlson which was released earlier this week.

“But that’s why I was interested when Bobby came to me and said, ‘Would you think about being my running mate?’ And I said, ‘Are you serious? I’m a f***ing football player.’ But I love this country, and I’d love to be a part of bringing it back to what she used to be,” Rodgers told Carlson.
